Copco Skincare Organizer
The Brief
The goal was to design a versatile cosmetic and skincare organizer that balanced generous storage with a clean, modern aesthetic. The organizer needed to provide intuitive access to everyday essentials while incorporating secondary storage for less frequently used items, creating a system that felt organized without adding visual clutter. I began the project by developing a series of 3D concepts to explore different forms, layouts, and spatial configurations before refining the strongest direction.
My Role
As the sole designer on this project, I led the design process from concept through final development. I explored multiple directions in CAD, refined the product architecture and storage layout, and developed the final design with a focus on functionality, organization, and a clean visual aesthetic.
Development
Research into skincare routines and product types established the foundation for the organizer's layout. By analyzing the size, frequency of use, and sequence of everyday skincare essentials, I developed an organizational system that prioritized accessibility while maintaining a streamlined footprint. Alongside this research, I explored several visual directions in CAD, iterating on form, proportions, and storage configurations before refining the final design. This process ensured the organizer was both intuitive to use and visually cohesive.
Meeting Constraints
As the design matured, balancing visual simplicity with manufacturability became a primary focus. I refined each component to satisfy injection molding requirements while optimizing assembly, durability, and overall functionality. Since the product incorporated transparent plastic components, traditional adhesive bonding was avoided to maintain a clean, uninterrupted appearance.
This required every interface to be resolved through mechanical connections, including carefully engineered snap-fit and interlocking features that ensured secure assembly without compromising the aesthetic. Throughout the process, high-fidelity CAD models were used to validate tolerances, fit, movement, and part interactions, resulting in a design that was both production-ready and visually refined.
Outcome
The final organizer brings together user-centered research, thoughtful organization, and production-ready design into a cohesive solution. By grounding each design decision in the realities of everyday skincare routines while refining the product for manufacturability, I created an organizer that is intuitive to use, visually refined, and optimized for production. This project reflects my approach to industrial design—balancing functionality, aesthetics, and engineering to create products that enhance everyday experiences.
